Here's my point to parking at the Golden Gate Bridge deck. Amazingly, it's easy to park at the bridge! And it's free, if you know where to look.
This is cardinal of those local secrets; you can actually drive to the Golden Gate Bridge and park near IT, with no hassles, and often for free.
Quite an a change from hard to park at San Francisco's other attractions!
In that respect are 9 parking heaps approach the bridgeon the SF slope, and2 parking scores along the Marin side (regard downstairs).

The Nine SF Parking Lots for the Bridge

#1 - Langdon Court Parking Lot
(aka Command Circumstances)
This one is the best look: the Langdon Royal court lot is happening Lincoln Blvd, at Langdon Courtyard, on the Occident side of the bridge. The new sign says Overlook Lot.
Why is this the foremost lot?

#2 - Merchandiser Road Parking Lot
Merchant Road Lot. It's just upward Merchant Road from the employee lot connected the west side of the span. Parking is free, but thither's a four-60 minutes time limit (though I doubt they have someone holding track of how long people park there). Tends to fill ahead on nice days, but multitude come and go frequently.

Just a few minutes walk to the bridge, and has approximately same pleasant views. It's right near the Electric battery West ruins and the path that runs on the cliffs to the bridge deck.
#3 - Employee Park
Employee Car park. On Merchant Road. There is a larger lot just on the west side of the Toll Plaza on Merchant Road that's available only connected weekends for a $5 flat fee. This lot tends to fill out because it's next to the bridge circuit and is ill-used as a weekend overflow lot for the more-congested Welcome Center lot.

You can drive below the bridgework from the Wanted Center peck to get on that point (see map), or from the other side on Lincoln Blvd. Merely just go a bit farther and you'll reach the free, Merchant Road Lot.
#4 - Lot D, Lincoln Boulevard
Lot D. Connected Lincoln Blvd, westbound side. This batch is a larger version of the Fort Scott lot, right next to it on Lincoln Blvd. $1.20 per hour, $7 per day. Paid parking enforced from 8 am to 6 pm daily, no time limit.

This sight is probably the emptiest of all the lots: a good come-back alternative on holidays when the visitors are at the max. It's across the road from my favorite lot, Langdon Court, described above (free &A; usually uncomplete empty).
#5 - Fortify Scott Lot
Fort Scott Lot. A convenient lot on Lincoln Blvd, west slope of bridge. Paid parking enforced 8 am to 6 post-mortem daily; $1.20 per hr, $7 per day. Machine accepts credit cards and coins (no paper money). No time limits.

People look to favor this portion over Lot D next door. The prices and hours are the same for both mountain, and Garrison Scott crapper get engorged in summertime and on holidays.
#6 - Welcome Center Parking Lot
The Welcome Focus Dole out. Most people attempt to parking lot here, because information technology's right nearly all the action and very favourable. Non a good idea. Not only is IT limited to 2 hours, it's crowded with cars and tour buses, with lines of cars waiting to park.

#7 - Battery East Park
Battery East Lot. This is a newer flock on the east side of the bridge, off Lincoln Blvd; very convenient to some of the best views of the bridge over.

Short-snouted walk to the Welcome Heart and bridge. $1.20/ per hour, $7 per daytime. Big lot, lots of spaces uncommitted usually. Paid parking enforced 10 am to 5 pm daily.

#8 - Crissy Theater Parking Lot
Crissy Landing field Parking. A longer walk to the nosepiece, simply at that place's much parking at the western remainder of Crissy Field. This lot can be interfering on sunny years and weekends, but there are often a couple of spaces available regular then.
It's free on weekdays, with a 3-60 minutes limit between 9 am and 5 postmeridian, but fees are enforced on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 5 phase modulation ($1.20 per hour, $7 every day; machine accepts mention cards and coins).
Amy Lyon parking lot at Crissy Discipline
Crissy Field has a nice walkway along the bay, with pretty views of the bridge, Alcatraz and City of London skyline. The Thaw Hut is honourable past the western end of the park; you can stop in for a meal and a trifle shopping. The Warming Hut is near a long pier jutting forbidden into the bay tree with great views.
Sporty medieval the Warming Hut is the path that leads adequate the Battery East trail and then to the Golden Gate Bridgework (see map preceding).
Note: IT's only about a 10 to 15 narrow walk to the bridge from the Crissy Field parking lot, but part of that is raised a very long, steep stairway.

The climb is up a long series of steep, rustic stairs, then a pathway with nice views of the bridge. This route is Sir Thomas More convenient from the park at Crissy Study. Information technology starts only a few proceedings from the park, a little past the Warming Hut. See map in a higher place.
#9 - Fort Point Parking Lots
Fort Point Parking. There's a medium-sized lot and more or less parking spaces along the approach to Fort Target, asset another good-sized lot in front of the fort. The spaces can fill out, but if you wait, you can belik arrest a spot pretty soon.

Parking is free, with no time limits, and there's a great regar of the bridge from the parking lot. It's a bite of a hike to the bridge deck, possibly 20 minutes, character of which is the stairs pictured above.
More Parking at Fort Point
Garrison Point is a Civil-War-epoch fort, right underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. It's an impressive sight, and worth a visit. Super views of the bridge from the roof. Open daily in summertime, 10 to 5. Winter, open Friday-Monday, 10 to 5. Free admission.

There are two parking lots at the northern end of the Favored Gate Nosepiece, one on each pull of the bridge.
- Vista Point parking lot (East side)

Vista Point Parking Lot
The Vista Point parking lot is selfsame busy. Information technology's the first caboodle you can pull into fitting after crossing the bridge, and it has one of the best views of the bridge. Not surprisingly, it's likewise a popular stop for the tour buses. All of the Hop On Hop Off buses stop here on their Sausalito loop, and lots of people come here along foot walking across the bridge.
Vista Peak Parking Lot
Parking is free, but there is a four hr limit.

Getting northwar Tower lot: get hold of the second die after you escape the bridge, the Alexander Avenue exit. Then take the forward left connected Alexander Ave and go under the highway. Follow the roadworthy a stubby distance until you see the park near the bridge.

COVID-19 Status: at midnight on Monday, March 16, 2020,San Francisco was placed under a "shelter-in-plaza" put.

Public transfer options had been cut back, but are expanding again. See SF transit for Thomas More information. Masks are still required of everyone on public transit.
The cable cars are running again. In September, they resumed full service, starting with the Powell-Hyde Line, and the some other 2 lines to follow after.

Mask rules: some other interchange, starting Noble 3,2021. Everyone is now required to wear a mask indoors in SF, whether insusceptible or not. People may go without masks outdoors unless the expanse is obtusely populated. H ospitals, schools, nursing homes and public transit, still require masks.
What is open? Muir Wood, the Biological science Gardens, Golden Gate Park, Japanese Tea Garden, Pier 39, SF beaches, Golden Gate Bridge deck, most museums, and Twin Peaks (car access along Portola) are all open.
Parking lots for SF beaches, Twin Peaks , and the Golden Gate Bridge are open, including the Welcome Halfway lot.
